Production Designer . Set Decorator
Originally from China, Hanrui Wang is a Los Angeles based production designer.
She began her career as a set decorator on Lulu Wang's award- winning film ' The Farewell ',( 2020 Golden Globes with another 30 awards), and Lee Isaac Chung's Oscar nominated film ‘ Minari’.
Hanrui then rose to production designer. She designed the feature film ' Accidental Get Away Driver' directed by Sing Lee, who was awarded the Sundance U.S. Dramatic Award for Best Directing in 2023.
She recently designed ' Dìdi (弟弟) ' by Oscar nominated director Sean Wang.' Dìdi (弟弟)' premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. It won the U.S. Dramatic Audience Award, Special Jury Prize for Best Ensemble Cast, and was acquired by Focus Features for a Summer 2024 theatrical release. She
She also art directed for Director Bao Nguyen's The Greatest Night In Pop which was world premiered at the 2024 Sundance and released on Netflix.
Hanrui's other design credits include US Production designer on ‘The Wandering Earth 2’ , BeneathThe Banyan Tree, Starring Ah-Lei Gua, BBC- Documentary SexPlanet, Starring Cara Delevingne. Think like a Dog, Directed by Gil Junger. She also designed prolifically on commercial and music video, including Earth, Wind & Fire, Lucky Daye, COIN, Linda Lindas, Carly Rae Jepsen.
